I still have the BNS Scholar for sale, still in excellent condition. I will drop the price to $550. Otherwise, I can trade it for something else that will be useful to me. Some things I'd be willing to trade it for are:
* a Braille display (that is compatible with the NVDA screenreader). This would include one from the Focus/PacMate series, one from the Alva BC640/680 series, or any other display that you know will work with NVDA.
* a Braille embosser (any that are compatible with Duxbery 10.5 and Windows XP).
I had bought the BNS Scholar for school to use for my college algebra class but had never got around to using it much, so now it's been in the box and just sitting on a shelf. I want to give it to someone who might have more use for it and at the same time get back something I will use more regularly in my everyday life, or the money to help buy such a thing(s). Thanks.

The things I'd be willing to trade for are either the display, or the embosser. Just to clarify on that. *smile*

What's the difference between the scholar and regular braille n speak?

I don't think there's much of a difference. I don't know how advanced the BNS has gotten up to, but I had used to use a 640 in the mid-90s in school, and the difference between that and the Scholar is that this BNS uses the DoubleTalk synthesizer, and it also comes with the graphing calculator feature already installed.

I still have the BNS scholar available and will sell it for $550, or I will trade it for a Braille display that is compatable with Windows XP and the NVDA screenreader.

I sure wish I had something to trade, but I don't. I desperately want another note taker, and the one you have sounds like a good deal for $550, but I just can't afford it right now.

My BNS Scholar is no longer available, as it is not working, and there will be no way of me getting it fixed even if it were possible to fix it. Thank you for those who were interested.
